The Military Loan Act (MLA) places limitations on the terms of credit products that can be offered to active military service members, their guards, reserve service members and dependents, known as “Covered Borrowers.” Because of these limitations, certain lines of credit, such as those from Kiwi, are not available to those identified as Covered Borrowers in the MLA database. For more details about the MLA or to determine if it applies to you, we recommend reviewing additional resources or contacting our customer service for inquiries regarding our personal loans.

Building Credit History
We report your payment history to three major credit agencies: TransUnion, Experian and Equifax.
Kiwi reports your account information to the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, on a monthly basis, for the first 5 to 10 days of each month. However, updates to your credit report aren't immediate; it can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks for new information to appear on your credit report after the report is made.
Loan Payments
If you have AutoPay enabled, payments will be automatically debited each month from your bank account. You can also make your payments manually through our mobile application, by contacting us by phone, or through ATH Movil (only for residents of PR).
If you are unable to make the payment by the due date, please contact us through our online chat, located at the bottom right of the screen, identified with a message icon. This will help us better understand your situation and explore possible flexible solutions. Remember that we report all payment behavior to credit bureaus, and not making payments on time can affect your credit history.
All information related to your loan, including payment history and bills, is available in our app. You will also receive this information via email to the address you registered during the application process.
Civil Relief Act benefits for covered service members (SCRA) borrowers
The SCRA is a federal law that provides various legal and financial protections to full-time active duty members of the five military branches, reservists called to federal active duty, members of the National Guard under federal orders for more than 30 days, and the commissioned body of the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. It also extends its protections to service members who are legally absent from duty due to illness, injury, or authorized leave.
Eligibility for SCRA benefits and protections extends to:
● Active duty members of all five military branches, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Space Force.
● Reservists, once they are called to active duty.
● National Guard members activated for service for 30 days or more.
● U.S. citizens serving in allied military forces involved in war or military operations.
The SCRA requires that the interest rate on loans obtained before the start of active service be limited to a maximum of 6% per year during the period of military service. Our policies related to covered borrowers. Starting at the earliest date allowed by law, we lower the interest rate on the customer's loan to 0%.
To access the benefits of the SCRA, proactive steps are necessary since they are not automatically granted. You must submit a written request accompanied by a copy of your active duty orders or a letter from your commanding officer stating the start date of your active duty. If you qualify for SCRA benefits, we urge you to send us a copy of your active service orders without delay by email to support@kiwicredito.com. This allows us to evaluate your eligibility and implement the necessary adjustments.
